Old Market is forward thinking, but we also take care to remember the past. Every year, Old Market sponsors Hereford Cathedral’s carol service in recognition, and commemoration, of those who lost their lives in the SAS (Special Air Service).
The centre also works closely with the Hereford BID, Hereford Business Council and Hereford Council, to enhance the city as a place to live, work, eat and shop. This is reflected by Old Market becoming the first shopping centre gaining a Safe Place title.
The Safe Place scheme was invented to give vulnerable individuals a place to go if they are feeling worried, uncomfortable, or scared. A Safe Place is somewhere where a person can find help if they need it, Old Market has Guest Liaison Security Officers on site 24/7, ensuring a safe environment for our customers, but also for anyone who feels vulnerable in a situation.
Onsite we also offer unlimited free Wi-Fi, which will automatically connect you if you’ve used it before. Feeling connected with the surrounding community is important to Old Market, and we think supplying free internet is one of the initial steps in achieving this.
